the 14 stars and also names the last star Abhaya and Dhruva; that is fearless and fixed.
The star at the mouth of the dolphin fish is Polaris (α Ursae Minoris) and the one at the tail
end is called Markaṭī in Sanskrit (β Ursae Minoris or Kochab). If these two were joined by a
straight line, this line would rotate like the hand of a clock and make a full circle in a sidereal

then from Mriga Sira Njattuvela ( solar transit of Meissa ) onwards ( from June 8 ), Kerala gets
tremendous rains !
In our ancient Vedic texts it is written that it was nectar that rained during Thiruvathira
Njattuvela .
Rains will be incessant during Thiruvathira Njattuvela ( Thiri muriyathe peythu nirayunna
Thiruvathira )
The sun position in the 27 star signs is called ‘Njattuvela’ each being thirteen and a half days.
Even today we collect this Thiruvathira rain water ( straight to a wide mouthed glass bowl )
for making herbal LEHYAM for lactating mothers
The Njattuvela before Karthika, is good for digging wells. The wells dug during the Karthika
Njattuvela ( when the Sun transits the Pleiades ), will be everlasting as their water will not dry
up. ( Karthika kalil kakkakalu nananjal mukkathil mukkum ).
The seeds planted after Rohini Njattuvela ( Alpha Tauri ) need only little care. (
Rohinikappuram vitha kuruchu mathi ). Meaning you can get the fruits effortlessly.
Heavy rains will lash during the Earth's transit of Lamda Orionis ( Makirythil Mazha
Madhichu ).
Fierce rains to be expected during the Earth's tranist of Beta Geminorum ( Punarthathil
pulappikkunna mazha ) ( Punartha thadiyan poozhi therippikkum ). ( Punarthathil poozhan

The major Four Seasons of the Western System ( spring, summer, autumn and winter ) and the
six seasons of the Indian system ( vasanta, greeshma, varsha, sharat, hemanta, sisira ) are
caused by the apparent solar transits or the real Earth's transits of the Constellational Zodiac.
The six seasons of Kerala based on the Sun position Varsham (Cancer-Leo), Sarath (Virgo-
Libra), Hemandam(Scorpio-Saggitarius), Sisiram(Capricon-Aquarius), Vasantham (Pisces –
Aries), Greeshmam (Taurus-Gemini) .
The Indian astronomical system is more detailed in that it deals with 27 stars signs coming
from 18 Rasis but within the influence of the Zodiac for charting the movement of the Sun and
the Moon.
The Panchangam day commences at sunrise with 60 units called Nazhikas (24 minutes)
subdivided into 60 units of Vinazhikas (24 seconds) for each nazhika.. The 60 Nazhikas are
divided into 4 quarters called padam. A star could be partly in one Constellation and the rest
in the next. As an example Karthika (Pleiades) has the first quarter in Medam (Aries) and the
balance in Taurus

An expedition to Punt was ordered by Rameses III, in the 12th century B.C. An ancient papyrus
records that Rameses III "constructed great transport vessels ... loaded with limitless goods
from Egypt. ... They reached the land of Punt, unaffected by (any) misfortune, safe and
respected." And they returned safe and respected.
Sir William Matthew Flinders Petrie, wrote that the dynastic race of Egyptian Pharaoh’s was
NOT from Egypt but from an alien land across the seas known as Punt. Petrie wrote that the
culture of Ancient Egypt was derived from an invading "Dynastic Race" which had conquered
Egypt in late prehistory and introduced the Pharaonic culture. In 1892 Petrie was Edwards
professor of Egyptology at University College London

The Land of Punt designation as Ta Netjer by the Egyptian people which literally can be
translated as the Land of the Gods, is the abode of the gods, and its location is toward the
sunrise, where sun god Ra. The Land of Gods can be interpreted as “the land of the ancestors”,
