Professor R. Wever from the Max Planck Institute for Behavioral Physiology in Erling-Andechs, built an underground bunker that completely screened out magnetic fields. Between 1964 and 1989, this bunker was used to conduct 418 studies in 447 human volunteers. Student volunteers lived for four weeks in this hermetically closed environment.
Professor Wever observed that the students’ circadian rhythms diverged and that they suffered emotional distress and migraine headaches. Since they were young and healthy, no serious health conditions appeared, but older people or people with a weak immune system would have probably had a different response.

When brahmacharya becomes stable then the yogi gains great energy and power. In a very traditional sense Brahmacharya was a description for the early part of life, on average up to about the age of 25, before marriage, time focused on studies.
Here all energy was devoted to learning of which much of that was gaining the tools to practice the ways to self-realisation. It was typically a time of sexual abstinence.
Later one entered family life and naturally sex was part of it. This was the system and culture around the time of Patanjali. The yogic process is one of channeling and managing energy within, where as in average daily life this life energy, or prana, is wasted, drained out the senses.

That self is indeed Brahman, as well as identified with the intellect, the Manas and the vital force, with the eyes and ears, with earth, water, air and the ether, with fire, and what is other than fire, with desire and the absence of desire, with anger and the absence of anger, with righteousness and unrighteousness, with everything—identified, as is well known, with this (what is perceived) and with that (what is inferred). As it does and acts, so it becomes; by doing good it becomes good, and by doing evil it becomes evil—it becomes virtuous through good acts and vicious through evil acts. Man in essence is the all-pervading immortal soul. He identifies himself, on account of delusion and ignorance, with the five illusory Koshas or sheaths
The five sheaths (pancha-kosas) are described in the Taittiriya Upanishad. From gross to fine they are:-
Annamaya kosha, "foodstuff" sheath (physical)
Pranamaya kosha, "energy" sheath ( life force)
Manomaya kosha "mind-stuff" sheath ( mental )
Vijnanamaya kosha, "wisdom" sheath ( intellect )
Anandamaya kosha, "bliss" sheath ( emotion )
Anandamaya is a state of mind which does not change, despite anything that happens in life. With that state of mind you can live with all the conditions of life. You are where you are, firmly rooted in your own self, but at the same time you can interact with everyone.
In a gurukul when a maharishi leads his pupil to Anandamaya kosha, the last words they exchange is AHAM BRAHMASMI,-- and they part probably never to meet again.
The Upanishads says: "Aham Brahmasmi" - "I am Brahman, I am the totality, really I am everything."
In order to transport man by the ship of Brahma-Vidya to the farthest shore of the great ocean (Koshas), the Sruti says, This Atman is Brahman; Thou art That.'
Within anandamaya kosha lies the understanding that separation and ego are just an illusion.
This is the stage in which atma ( SOUL ) experiences the eternal bliss, a perfect state of peace, comfort, stability and carefree nature.
This recognition totals compassion, love and happiness-- anandamaya kosha is the bliss body.

Karma goes hand-in hand with reincarnation since rebirth is the means to exhaust all the consequences of our karma. Our present has been created by our past and our future is taking shape through every moment that we live - through every thought, word and action.

The Bhagavad Gita has been advocating nishkama karma - desireless action - since time immemorial. It says “Your choice is in action only, never in the result thereof. Do not be the author of the result of action. Let your attachment not be to inaction” (2-47)
Krishna says that if you do Nishkam karma, you won't suffer the consequences of your karma.
When acting out of Nishkam Karma, an individual is acting without any expectation that good will be returned to him/her. In Sanskrit, nishkam means “action without SELFISH motive,”
In Karma yoga philosophy, there are two central concepts: Sakam Karma and Nishkam Karma. Sakam Karma is to take action under self-centered motivations with the goal of being thanked or receiving goodness in return. Nishkam Karma is the opposite of Sakam Karma and is considered to be selfless action without even the subtle internal hope for a “thank you” or goodness returned.
Ultimately, Nishkam Karma is considered non-attachment to the result of personal actions in life, but with selfless and loving motives. The karmic concept centers on whatever actions a yogi makes within the world for the sake of others and not for self-benefit.
The purpose of life is liberation or moksha. Nishkama karma or detaching one’s actions from personal reward helps us to attain this purpose. However, in the final analysis, the choice rests with us.
When Arjuna was being advised by Krishna to fight in the battle, he asked Krishna a very important question -
Arjun: "Isn't killing people bad and unethical? If so, then why, oh Krishna, are you telling me to kill the Kauravas? Wouldn't I be sowing the seeds of bad karma which would then hurt me when they reap?"
To which Krishna replied:
Krishna: "Hey Arjun, perform nishkam karma, ie fight in the battle without any desire or expecting any result for yourself. Then this karma would not be considered as a sin. Pick up your weapons because this is your dharma, or responsibilities."
“Thy right is to work only, but never to its fruits; let not the fruit-of-action be thy motive, nor let thy attachment be to inaction.” ─ Swami Chinmayananda
Vedas have been divided into four styles of texts – the Samhitas (mantras and benedictions), the Aranyakas (text on rituals, ceremonies, bloodless sacrifices and symbolic-sacrifices), the Brahmanas (commentaries on rituals, ceremonies and sacrifices), and the Upanishads (text discussing meditation, philosophy and spiritual knowledge).
All of them were penned down in 5000 BC.
Samhita has prayers or Suktas. Brahmana has yajna methods. Aranyaka has Mantras and methods that are practiced in the forests (not for grihasta stage ) . Upanishads normally appear in the last part of Aranyaka and deal with spiritual philosophy.
Brahmanas ( part 2 ) an Aranyakas ( part 3 ) have been stolen by the white invader for the science and math value. Brahmanas and aranyakas have been stolen during the rule of the white invader—who extracted the essense , patented in their own names and destroyed the originals.
The Brahmanas, were mostly in prose. Brahmanas expound Karma, Samsara, re-births and moksha.
The Aranyakas, served as a link between the Brahmanas and the Upanishads
The white invader left behind poison injected brahmanas and aranyakas to make the Hindu look stupid—nay—like wild monkeys..
The white invader thought that Samhita (Sruti verses ) part 1 were useless set of words . Samhita refers to the most ancient layer of text in the Vedas, consisting of mantras, hymns, prayers, litanies and benedictions.. Mantras are combination of letters according to euphonic rules- which gives bliss to the heart.
These contain mantras – sacred sounds Vedic Samhita refer to mathematically precise metrical archaic text of each of the Vedas.

The Samhitas and the Brahmanas form the Karma-Kanda segment of the Vedas.

The Aranyakas were full of secret explanations about the Veda samhitas ( sruti verses ) -- the allegorical meaning of the ritual , power of the longitudinal sound wave , the internal, meditative meaning of the bloodless sacrifice, as contrasted to its actual, outward performance.
"Aranyaka" iterally means "produced in wilderness". These were deep contemplations by maharishis who moved out of their homes in vanaprasta/ sanyasa stages of life
But only in human beings is the Atman [soul] obvious,
for they are equipped with cognition.
They speak what they have understood.
They see what they have recognized,
and know what will exist tomorrow.
They know of this world and of the other.
Through that which is mortal, they strive for immortality.
They are equipped with all this...
such a human being is an ocean.
He partakes of everything in the world,
and still his thoughts go beyond it.
And even if he were to partake of the other world,
his thoughts would also go beyond it.

Aranyakas deal with SAMYAMA.

Yama and Samyama form the start and culmination of yoga practices. Yama is personal practices consisting of ahimsa (noninjury), satya (truthfulness), asteya (not appropriating what belongs to others), brahmacharya (moving toward Ultimate Truth or Brahman), and aparigraha (nonacceptance of gifts).
This is followed by Niyama which are restraints of saucha (purity), santosha (content), tapah (penance), svaadyaaya (study), and Isvara pranidhana (surrender to a higher principle). Samyama is bringing together the last three stages of the practices, namely, dharana, dhyana, and samadhi.
The natural outcome of practice of Yama and Niyama is these altruistic attitudes regarding welfare and love toward others who also go through ups and downs of life. Yama and Niyama, if practiced truthfully and fully, become mahavrata or great commitments that transcend time, space, and situations.
Further, the entire environment around the person becomes charged with these virtues and hostility is not seen in his presence
The ultimate goal of practicing yoga is to achieve transcendence and to break this cyclic existence. Dharana, dhyana, and samadhi are the three states that prepare one toward this transcendental goal.
These three together is called Samyama (sam meaning total and yama meaning to control). Samyama means complete mastery over the psychic process or complete control of mental concentration.
The ego is broken either by internal self-analysis or by objective concentration. Both ways are equally applicable and effective.
It is the ego that prevents us from concentrating ourselves on anything, because the ego has a notion of the variety of things, and a need for appropriating various diverse characters for its own satisfaction. And inasmuch as we are preventing this kind of contact and satisfaction, it resents all forms of concentration of mind.
Samyama is the greatest synthesis of human consciousness, the synthesis of three: dharana, dhyan, samadhi.
Attention leads to concentration (dharana).
Concentration leads to meditation (dhyana).
Meditation leads to absorption (samadhi).
Meditation (along with concentration and samadhi) is a tool for examining the inner world, so as to experience the center of consciousness. With meditation, there is still an observer observing an observed.
When the observer becomes so absorbed in the process of observing the object that there seems to be only the object, that is the beginning of samadhi.
It is as if the observer, the process of observing, and the object being observed all three collapse in such a way that the only thing remaining is the object. When this deep absorption happens, meditation becomes samadhi. he ability to allow concentration to go into meditation, and to then allow meditation to go into samadhi is a process called samyama.
Samyama means perfect control of the mind. Samyama is a name for three inseparable processes of Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi taken collectively. By the practice of Samyama, the Yogi gets knowledge and powers.
The three processes are practised on any one object successively at the same time. When a man can direct his mind to any particular object and fix it there, and then keep it there for a long time, separating the object from the internal part, this is Samyama
Samyama is a powerful weapon for the Yogi. Just as the archer aims at the gross objects at first, and then takes to subtle objects, so also the Yogi does Samyama on gross objects and then takes to subtle objects. He does great deal of practice and ascends the Yogic ladder rung by rung.
When one has succeeded in making this Samyama, all powers come under his control. This is the great instrument of the Yogi. The objects of knowledge are infinite, and they are divided into the gross, grosser, grossest and the fine, finer, finest and so on.
This Samyama should be first applied to gross things, and when you begin to get knowledge of this gross, slowly, by stages, it should be brought to finer things. When the mind has attained to that state when it identifies itself with the internal impression of the object, leaving the external, and when, by long practice, that is retained by the mind and the mind can get into that state in a moment, that is Samyama.
If the Yogi can make a Samyama on these past impressions in the mind, he will begin to remember all his past lives.
When a Yogi makes a Samyama on his own Karma, upon those impressions in his mind which are now working, and those which are just waiting to work, he knows exactly by those that are waiting when his body will fall.
BY HARNESSING YOUR EGO, YOU LIGHTEN YOUR KARMIC BAGGAGE

The underlying emotion for the ego is fear, the fear of being a nobody.There is always a sense of insecurity around the ego even if on the outside it appears confident , perfumed and powdered. Ego strengthens itself by diminishing others..

The body of the “realized man” or Jivan Mukt continues to exist until his karmas and prarabdhas ( greater responsibility ) has worked itself out, and then his mortal coil falls away on his own free will , and he attains Moksha.

Karma yoga, also called Karma marga, is one of the several spiritual paths in Hinduism, one based on the "yoga of action".
To a karma yogi, right work done well is a form of prayer
Karma marga allows an ethical person who uses his conscience and integrity , to remain within society instead of becoming a renunciant, while also cultivating qualities important in the achievement of salvation. In this path, one acts for the good of society while pursuing spiritual progress and adhering to standards of correct action.
Karma Yoga is the path of 'action', of putting in 100 percent effort, without being attached to the outcome.
Karma yoga is the path of unselfish action. It teaches that a spiritual seeker should act according to dharma, without being attached to the fruits or personal consequences. Karma Yoga, states the Bhagavad Gita— purifies the mind.
Only dharmic action is suitable in karma yoga, where one downplays one's own exclusive role or one's own selfish interests. The karma yogi considers the interests of all parties impartially, and then does the right thing.
Karma yoga, does not mean forfeiture of emotions or desires, rather it means action driven by "equanimity, balance", with "dispassion, disinterest", avoiding "one sidedness, fear, craving, favoring self or one group or clan, self-pity, self-aggrandizement or any form of extreme reactiveness
According to the Bhagavad Gita, selfless service to the right cause and like-minded others, with the right feeling and right attitude, is a form of worship ( BHAKTI ) and spirituality
Verse 3.4 of the Bhagavad Gita states that avoiding work or not starting work is not the path to become free of bondage, just like renouncing the world and wearing monk's dress does not automatically make one spiritual
In the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna says:--
tasmād asaktaḥ satataṁ kāryaṁ karma samāchara
asakto hyācharan karma param āpnoti pūruṣhaḥ
BG 3.19: Therefore, giving up attachment, perform actions as a matter of duty, for by working without being attached to the fruits, one attains the Supreme.
Karma yoga can be applied to everything you do: from from the most trivial, ordinary tasks to greater, more challenging works. When action is performed selflessly, with full focus and attention, it brings fulfillment and freedom.
Acting without being attached to the fruits of one's deeds – this alone can lead to union with the Self ( brahman ), which is the goal of yoga....
Karma is a crucial Hindu concept. There can be NO Sanatana Dharma without laws of Karma.
According to the doctrine of karma, our present condition in life is the consequence of the actions of our previous lives. The choices we have made in the past directly affect our condition in this life, and the choices we make today and thereafter will have consequences for our future lives in samsara.
A Karma Yogi should be absolutely free from greed, lust, anger and egoism. Then only he can do real useful service. Even if there are traces of these Doshas, he should try to remove them one by one.
Karma Yoga prepares the mind for the reception of Light or Knowledge. It expands the heart and breaks all barriers that stand in the way of unity or oneness. Karma Yoga is the effective Sadhana for Chitta Suddhi ( purity of mind ).
Chitta Suddhi comes through Nishkam Karma Yoga. To do Nishkamya Karma, you must have controlled the Indriyas. The Indriyas can be controlled through Viveka and Vairagya.
Nishkam Karma self-less or desireless action, is an action performed without any expectation of fruits or results, and the central tenet of Karma Yoga path to liberation.
God can even give you divine exemption and dispensation for balance negative karmic baggage if your good karma in present life , involves great personal sacrifice without caring for selfish personal FAAYADA ( Sakam Karma - attached involvement)
Work elevates when done in the right spirit without attachment or egoism.
karmaṇy-evādhikāras te mā phaleṣhu kadāchana
mā karma-phala-hetur bhūr mā te saṅgo ’stvakarmaṇi
BG 2.47: You have a right to perform your prescribed duties, but you are not entitled to the fruits of your actions. Never consider yourself to be the cause of the results of your activities, nor be attached to inaction.
Action alone hast thou a right and never at all to its fruits; let not the fruits of action be thy motive; neither let there be in thee any attachment to inaction.
kāyena manasā buddhyā kevalair indriyair api
yoginaḥ karma kurvanti saṅgaṁ tyaktvātma-śhuddhaye
BG 5.11: The yogis, while giving up attachment, perform actions with their body, senses, mind, and intellect, only for the purpose of self-purification.
With the body, with the mind, with the intellect, even merely with the senses, the Yogis perform action toward self-purification, having abandoned attachment. He who is disciplined in Yoga, having abandoned the fruit of action, attains steady peace...
yoga-sthaḥ kuru karmāṇi saṅgaṁ tyaktvā dhanañjaya
siddhy-asiddhyoḥ samo bhūtvā samatvaṁ yoga uchyate
BG 2.48: Be steadfast in the performance of your duty, O Arjun, abandoning attachment to success and failure. Such equanimity is called Yog.
Fixed in yoga, do thy work, O Winner of wealth (Arjuna), abandoning attachment, with an even mind in success and failure, for evenness of mind is called yoga
Nishkamya karma refers to the works performed without any motive or desire for a result or fear of consequence. It entails selfless service ( creative ), or seva, without the expectation of thanks or reward. Lack of greed and selfishness is key to the Karma yoga path to enlightenment and liberation –by lessening negative karmic baggage .
na hi jñānena sadṛiśhaṁ pavitramiha vidyate
tatsvayaṁ yogasansiddhaḥ kālenātmani vindati
BG 4.38: In this world, there is nothing as purifying as divine knowledge. One who has attained purity of mind through prolonged practice of Yog, receives such knowledge within the heart, in due course of time.
The Karma Yogi realises for himself the Atma Jnana in the course of time..
yuktaḥ karma-phalaṁ tyaktvā śhāntim āpnoti naiṣhṭhikīm
ayuktaḥ kāma-kāreṇa phale sakto nibadhyate
BG 5.12: Offering the results of all activities to God, the karm yogis attain everlasting peace. Whereas those who, being impelled by their desires, work with a selfish motive become entangled because they are attached to the fruits of their actions.
The Karma Yogi, having abandoned the fruit of action, obtains eternal peace or release which comes of wisdom, while, he who, being prompted by desire, is attached to them, becomes bound.
Lord Krishna says:--
tasmāt sarveṣhu kāleṣhu mām anusmara yudhya cha
mayyarpita-mano-buddhir mām evaiṣhyasyasanśhayam
BG 8.7: Therefore, always remember me and also do your duty of fighting the war. With mind and intellect surrendered to me, you will definitely attain me; of this, there is no doubt.
The yogi who practices nishkamya karma is freed from the three karmas of prarbdha (present actions), sanchita (all past actions) and agami (future actions that result from the present) because he acts without egoism. As a result, the yogi is freed through this detachment.
The path of Karma Yoga eventually leads to the attainment of Moksha.
śhreyān dravya-mayād yajñāj jñāna-yajñaḥ parantapa
sarvaṁ karmākhilaṁ pārtha jñāne parisamāpyate
BG 4.33: O subduer of enemies, sacrifice performed in knowledge is superior to any mechanical material sacrifice. After all, O Parth, all sacrifices of work culminate in wisdom

Moksha is the summum bonum of life. Moksha is the fulfilment of life's purpose. Life ends on this earth plane when you attain Moksha or liberation from birth and death

A timid man is absolutely unfit for Karma Yoga. He is fit to assist his wife in cleaning utensils in the kitchen in the morning and in washing her stained underwear in the evening.
īśhvaraḥ sarva-bhūtānāṁ hṛid-deśhe ‘rjuna tiṣhṭhati
bhrāmayan sarva-bhūtāni yantrārūḍhāni māyayā
BG 18.61: The Supreme Lord dwells in the hearts of all living beings, O Arjun. According to their karmas, he directs the wanderings of the souls, who are seated on a machine made of the material energy.

REPLACE FEAR WITH GRATITUDE -- AS A NEW YEAR RESOLUTION
A Karma Yogi does not expect even a return of love, appreciation, gratitude or admiration from the people whom he is serving.
Karma Yoga gives Chitta Suddhi. It purifies the heart and prepares the mind for the dawn of knowledge (Jnana Udaya).
Only he who has reduced his wants and controlled his Indriyas can do Karma Yoga. How can a man of luxury, with his Indriyas revolting, serve others? He wants everything for himself, and wants to exploit and domineer over others. Another qualification is that he must have a balanced mind. He must be free from Raga-Dvesha (likes and dislikes) also.
niyataṁ saṅga-rahitam arāga-dveṣhataḥ kṛitam
aphala-prepsunā karma yat tat sāttvikam uchyate
BG 18.23: Action that is in accordance with the scriptures, which is free from attachment and aversion, and which is done without desire for rewards, is in the mode of goodness.
Action which is ordained, done by one who is undesirous of fruit, devoid of attachment, without love or hate—that is called pure.
Merit and demerit, Punya and Papa, do not affect that Karma Yogi who has evenness or equanimity of mind, for he exults not over the good fruit of the one nor worries over the bad fruit of the other. He has equanimity of mind in success and failure. His mind is always resting in God all the while
The Karma Yogi has no attachment to sensual objects. He has purified his mind by constant selfless service. He has given up all idea of agency. He treats the body as an instrument of God, given to him for the fulfilment of His purpose.
He attributes all activities to the Divine Actor within. He who is established in the Yoga of equanimity becomes an expert in the science of Karma Yoga. That is the reason why Lord Krishna says:
buddhi-yukto jahātīha ubhe sukṛita-duṣhkṛite
tasmād yogāya yujyasva yogaḥ karmasu kauśhalam
BG 2.50: One who prudently practices the science of work without attachment can get rid of both good and bad reactions in this life itself. Therefore, strive for Yog, which is the art of working skillfully (in proper consciousness).
United to the pure reason, one abandoneth here both good and evil deeds: therefore cleave thou to Yoga; Yoga is skill in action.
The Karma Yogi who possesses evenness of mind casts off the fruits of actions. He escapes from good and bad births. Clinging to fruit only is the cause of rebirth. When all actions are performed for God’s sake in fulfilment of His purpose without desire for fruit, the Karma Yogi gets illumination. He shakes off the bondage of birth. He attains knowledge of Brahman and through Brahma Jnana, liberation or Moksha. In the Gita you will find:
karma-jaṁ buddhi-yuktā hi phalaṁ tyaktvā manīṣhiṇaḥ
janma-bandha-vinirmuktāḥ padaṁ gachchhanty-anāmayam
BG 2.51: The wise endowed with equanimity of intellect, abandon attachment to the fruits of actions, which bind one to the cycle of life and death. By working in such consciousness, they attain the state beyond all suffering.
The sages, united to the pure reason, renounce the fruit which action yieldeth, and, liberated from the bonds of birth, they go to the blissful seat
A Nishkamya Karma Yogi says: “Do all works without expectation of fruits. This will produce Chitta Suddhi. Then you will get knowledge of the Self. You will get Moksha or eternal bliss, peace and immortality.” This is his doctrine. That is the reason why Lord Krishna says to Arjuna:
karmaṇy-evādhikāras te mā phaleṣhu kadāchana
mā karma-phala-hetur bhūr mā te saṅgo ’stvakarmaṇi
BG 2.47: You have a right to perform your prescribed duties, but you are not entitled to the fruits of your actions. Never consider yourself to be the cause of the results of your activities, nor be attached to inaction.
Thy business is with the action only, never with its fruits; so let not the fruits of action be thy motive, nor be thou to inaction attached.
nehābhikrama-nāśho ’sti pratyavāyo na vidyate
svalpam apyasya dharmasya trāyate mahato bhayāt
BG 2.40: Working in this state of consciousness, there is no loss or adverse result, and even a little effort saves one from great danger.
There is no loss of effort here, there is no harm. Even a little of this service delivers one from great fear.
The path of Karma Yoga, which eventually leads to the attainment of the infinite bliss of the Self, cannot be futile.
Attachment is the first child of Maya. Selfishness causes attachment. Wherever there is attachment there are Ahamta and Mamata—‘I-ness’ and ‘mine-ness’. The whole Mayaic Chakra has begun to revolve. The man has become a slave now. Strong iron chains are fastened to his hands, knees and legs. He has entangled himself like a spider or the silk-worm. This is his own self-created trouble through attachment.
Karmas are good or, bad
The results of good Karmas are:
(1) Purification of the mind, that is to say, the removal from the mind of its drossness which is the effect of thoughts of narrow selfishness and gross sensuality.
(2) Happiness in the higher regions, during the period between the death and rebirth in this physical world. If the Karma is of an exceptional nature, the thinker may even be made an office-bearer with an authority in such higher regions.
(3) Coming back, as man again, to earth-life with facilities for further purification of mind. If the Karma, however, is done without attachment to its fruits and the thinker has been going along the path of Jnana (knowledge) or along the higher regions of the path of Bhakti (devotion to the supreme universal Soul) having his mind completely purified and possessing faith in the revealed truth that he and the Divine Object of his devotion are in fact one in the self, he is not bound to return again to earth-life.
The results of bad Karmas are:
(1) The mind becomes more and more impure.
(2) Suffering in the nether region or hell during the period between the death and rebirth here.
(3) If the Karma is very bad, after suffering in the nether region, the thinker is made to take his birth in this world in the lower animal or vegetable kingdom as part of his punishment. In some cases these lower births immediately follow the previous earth-life.
(4) After undergoing his sufferings in hell or as a sub-human Jiva, the thinker comes again to assume a human body. He is then placed amidst very unfavourable environments to his progress onwards. These bad environments or impediments to advancement are in consequence of his own previous errors and misdoings.
api ched asi pāpebhyaḥ sarvebhyaḥ pāpa-kṛit-tamaḥ
sarvaṁ jñāna-plavenaiva vṛijinaṁ santariṣhyasi
BG 4.36: Even those who are considered the most immoral of all sinners can cross over this ocean of material existence by seating themselves in the boat of divine knowledge.
yathaidhānsi samiddho ’gnir bhasma-sāt kurute ’rjuna
jñānāgniḥ sarva-karmāṇi bhasma-sāt kurute tathā
BG 4.37: As a kindled fire reduces wood to ashes, O Arjun, so does the fire of knowledge burn to ashes all reactions from material activities.
na hi jñānena sadṛiśhaṁ pavitramiha vidyate
tatsvayaṁ yogasansiddhaḥ kālenātmani vindati
BG 4.38: In this world, there is nothing as purifying as divine knowledge. One who has attained purity of mind through prolonged practice of Yog, receives such knowledge within the heart, in due course of time.
Even if thou art the most sinful of all sinners, yet shall thou cross over all sin by the raft of wisdom. As the burning fire reduces fuel to ashes, O Arjuna, so doth the fire of wisdom reduce all action to ashes. Verily, there is no purifier in this world like wisdom; he that is perfected in Yoga finds it in the Self in due season.
A WISE HINDU PRAYS TO GOD WHEN HE KNOWS HIS LAST MOMENTS ON PLANET EARTH HAVE ARRIVED
The last powerful thought that occupies the mind of a man in his dying moment determines the nature of his next birth.
yaṁ yaṁ vāpi smaran bhāvaṁ tyajatyante kalevaram
taṁ tam evaiti kaunteya sadā tad-bhāva-bhāvitaḥ
BG 8.6: Whatever one remembers upon giving up the body at the time of death, O son of Kunti, one attains that state, being always absorbed in such contemplation.
Whosoever at the end abandoneth the body, thinking upon any being, to that being only he goeth, O Kaunteya, ever to that confirmed by nature.
Karma is QUANTUM energy which an embodied being generates—be it vital, mental or moral—and which keeps him in the mundane world, the Samsara. Karma, in short, is the whole Samsaric make-up of an embodied being
Karma refers to the totality of our actions and their concomitant reactions in this and previous lives, all of which determines our future. It is the interplay between our experience and how we respond to it that makes karma devastating or helpfully invigorating. The conquest of karma lies in intelligent action and dispassionate reaction.
Not all karmas rebound immediately. Some accumulate and return unexpectedly in this or other births.
The ultimate reward is release from samsara and union with God. Samsara represents the cycle of life, death, and rebirth in which a person carries his or her own karma. Each life cycle presents an opportunity for redressal and balance. “ You reap what you sow" mirrors the Hindu concept of karma.
Just because a fake saint deceived everbody claiming to be a videha , and his followers buried him in meditative pose, he will NOT attain moksha. Rather he will pay dearly for his deceit. Emancipation during one's life time is Jivanmukti while the same after death is Videhamukti.
In India a known Jivan mukta, is above the law of the land meant for wordly humans. The large hearted and virtuous liberated sage has separated himself from the mind. He is just a witness of the mind.

Karma symbols such as endless knot (above) are common cultural motifs in Asia. Endless knots symbolize interlinking of cause and effect, a Karmic cycle that continues eternally. The endless knot is visible in the center of the prayer wheel.
A good action creates good karma, as does good intent. A bad action creates bad karma, as does bad intent
Lotus symbolically represents karma. A blooming lotus flower is one of the few flowers that simultaneously carries seeds inside itself while it blooms. Seed is symbolically seen as cause, the flower effect. Lotus is also considered as a reminder that one can grow, share good karma and remain unstained even in muddy circumstances
Disinterested actions, or unintentional actions do not have the same positive or negative karmic effect, as interested and intentional actions.
Thus good karma produces good effect on the actor, while bad karma produces bad effect. The effect of karma need not be immediate; the effect of karma can be later in one's current life, it extends to future lives.
The consequence or effects of one's karma can be described in two forms: phalas and samskaras. A phala (literally, fruit or result) is the visible or invisible effect that is typically immediate or within the current life. In contrast, samskaras are invisible effects, produced inside the actor because of the karma, transforming the agent and affecting his or her ability to be happy or unhappy in this life and future ones.
Karma seeds habits (vasana), and habits create the nature of man. Karma also seeds self perception, and perception influences how one experiences life events. Both habits and self perception affect the course of one's life. Breaking bad habits is not easy: it requires conscious karmic effort.
Karma is not itself "reward and punishment", but the law that produces consequence.
Karma theory considers not only the action, but also actor's intentions, attitude, and desires before and during the action. The karma concept thus encourages each person to seek and live a moral life, as well as avoid an immoral life. The meaning and significance of karma is thus as a building block of an ethical theory.
