॥ श्रीमहावाक्यार्थबोधः ॥

श्रीगणेशाय नमः ।
त्वामग्रे रविचन्द्रादेर्भासकं लोकचालकम् ।
पृच्छामीदं कथं ज्ञानमाप्नुयां दयया वद ॥ १॥

इति पृष्टोऽर्जुनेनाह श्रीदत्तः शृणु भूपते ।
यदेकं परमं ब्रह्म नित्यमुक्तमविक्रियम् ॥ २॥

तत्स्वशक्तिसमाविष्टमीशमाहुर्मनीषिणः ।
स विष्णुः स शिवो ब्रह्मा सोऽग्निरिन्द्रः स्वराड् हरिः ॥ ३॥

धाता कालः क्रिया कर्ता जीवनं मृत्युरामयः ।
नारायणो हृषीकेशो भूतं भव्यं भवच्च सः ॥ ४॥

वस्तुमात्रमिदं सर्वमहमेवास्मि सर्वदृक् ।
अहमेव परं ध्येयं मिथ्याभ्रमनिवृत्तये ॥ ५॥

भ्रमस्यापि च नामानि कल्पितानि शृणुष्व तत् ।
मायाविद्या परा देवी मनोऽनादिर्भ्रमस्त्रिवृत् ॥ ६॥

प्रधानं प्रकृतिर्ब्रह्म  योनिः शक्तिश्च कारणम् ।
मोहोऽध्यासस्तमोऽज्ञानं प्रस्वापः कारणं त्विदम् ॥ ७॥

अतोऽविद्या पञ्चपर्वा महामोहो द्विरूपकः ।
विक्षेपावृतिशक्त्याख्य आद्यात्सर्गोऽत्र भौतिकः ॥ ८॥

स्वरूपमावृणोत्यन्यो मुक्तं चेशं विना भृशम् ।
योऽविद्यार्तोऽवशो दुःखी भ्रान्तोऽज्ञो जीव एव सः ॥ ९॥

समष्टिरीशः सर्वज्ञो वशमायः स्वराट् सुखः ।
असत्वाभानाख्यभक्तावृतिहृद्गुरुरप्यसौ ॥ १०॥

मतं मूढैर्जगन्नित्यं तथा जीवेशयोर्भिदा ।
एवं भेदत्रयेणेदं भातं वस्त्वेव मायया ॥ ११॥

तन्निवृत्त्यै कृता वेदैः सृष्टिप्रलयकल्पना ।
मूढस्य सा मता सत्या भ्रमोऽयं लीयते विदा ॥ १२॥

ज्ञानं विद्येति तां प्राहुर्द्वेधा विद्या विचारजा ।
परोक्षा चापरोक्षेति तत्राद्या गुरुवक्त्रतः ॥ १३॥

अमानित्वादियुक्तैः सा विज्ञेया साधनान्वितैः ।
गुरुभक्तिं विना सापि दुर्लभा मोक्षदायिनी ॥ १४॥

यस्य देवे परा भक्तिर्यथादेवे तथा गुरौ ।
तस्यैते कथिता ह्यर्थाः प्रकाशन्ते महात्मनः ॥ १५॥

गुर्वनुग्रहमात्रेण विचारः सुलभो नृणाम् ।
विचारेण परं तत्त्वं स्वयमेव प्रकाशते ॥ १६॥

राजंस्त्वयारिवलं कर्म योगयागादिकं मयि ।
समर्पितं ततोऽयं ते विचारोऽद्य समुत्थितः ॥ १७॥

वैराग्यं परमं जातं भ्रममोहमलापहम् ।
अतो विद्याप्रसादस्ते भविष्यत्यचिरेण हि ॥ १८॥

विद्या ज्ञेया परोक्षेयं वेदान्तश्रवणात्मिका ।
उपक्रमादिभिर्लिङ्गैर्यत्तात्पर्यावधारणम् ॥ १९॥

तदेव श्रवणं तत्तु हरेत्संशयभावनाम् ।
असत्त्वावरणं चापि वस्त्वस्तीति तदेक्षते ॥ २०॥

मननं कार्यमस्येदमाश्वसम्भावनाहरम् ।
वशीकाराख्यवैराग्ययुक्तस्येदं सुखावहम् ॥ २१॥

आत्मैव नेह नानास्ति मोहितस्य जगत्त्विदम् ।
भाति नान्यस्य मिथ्येदं स्वप्नो निद्रागमे यथा ॥ २२॥

विषयान्ध्यायतो यद्वन्मनोरथपरम्परा ।
असत्येव सदा भाति नानाविषयगोचरा ॥ २३॥

परमात्मैक एवाहं वस्तुमात्रश्चिदात्मकः ।
मयि मिथ्याविभागोऽयं दृश्यतेऽनाद्यविद्यया ॥ २४॥

भ्रमो मोहो महामाया प्रधानं प्रकृतिर्मनः ।
अज्ञानं शक्तिरव्यक्तं गुणसाम्यमितीरिता ॥ २५॥

सैव मिथ्यामतिर्यस्या इदं भातं चराचरम् ।
एवं विचारश्रवणानुसारि मननं तु तत् ॥ २६॥

सच्चिदानन्दलक्ष्मापि परात्मा माययाऽऽवृतः ।
निजं स्वरूपं विस्मृत्य ययेदं दृश्यते जगत् ॥ २७॥

महांस्ततोऽहमस्तस्मात्तन्मात्राणि ततः क्रमात् ।
भूतेन्द्रियसुराणां च सर्गस्त्र्यामाऽहमः क्रमात् ॥ २८॥

न ह्यत्र नियमो राजन्नसत्ये मानसभ्रमे ।
कदाचिद्युगपत्सृष्टिः क्रमसृष्टिः कदाचन ॥ २९॥

देहाः सुरासुरनरतिरश्चां भौतिका इमे ।
स्थूलैः स्थूलानि सूक्ष्मैश्च सूक्ष्माण्येवं भवोद्भवः ॥ ३०॥

उपक्रमोऽयमाख्यात उपसंहार उच्यते ।
भूतेषु भौतिकानहि क्रमाद्योगी विलापयेत् ॥ ३१॥

पृथ्वी जले जलं वह्नौ वह्निर्वायौ स खे च खम् ।
अहमि प्राणगो देवा मनश्चापि स्वकारणे ॥ ३२॥

अहङ्कारोऽपि महति सोऽव्यक्ते तच्च निष्कले ।
स एवाहं परात्मैकः शुद्धो मुक्त उपाधितः ॥ ३३॥

एवं निदिध्यासनत एकः स्वात्मैव शिष्यते ।
तस्मान्नास्त्यपरं किञ्चिदात्मैवायं यथा तथा ॥ ३४॥

राजन्मम प्रसादात्त्वं खलु धन्योऽस्यसंशयम् ।
अन्तःकरणशुद्धिस्ते जाता वैराग्यमुत्तमम् ॥ ३५॥

मयि भक्तिर्दृढा प्रेम्णा श्रवणं चापि विस्तरात् ।
प्रपञ्चस्थापि चित्तस्था सर्वथा विलयं गता ॥ ३६॥

तत्त्वमेकं परं ब्रह्म न द्वितीयं कदापि हि ।
एवं शमादिरूपां तामारूढो भव भूमिकाम् ॥ ३७॥

त्वं साक्षात्कारसूपायक्रमं विद्ध्यथ भूपते ।
दत्तचित्तो भवाद्यात्र तत्त्वनिश्चयकारक ॥ ३८॥

सर्वसाधनसम्पन्नः पुरुषो जातनिश्चयः ।
श्रोत्रियं ब्रह्मनिष्ठं तं सद्गुरुं शरणं व्रजेत् ॥ ३९॥

तत्त्वमस्यादिवाक्यर्थमुपदिष्टं तु षड्विधैः ।
लिङ्गैर्धिया समालोच्य बुधः समवधारयेत् ॥ ४०॥

श्रवणं त्विदमेवोक्तं तत्समासेन ते ब्रुवे ।
यतस्त्वं शिष्यतां प्राप्तो मत्सेवाहतकिल्बिषः ॥ ४१॥

तत्पदेन परं ब्रह्म त्वम्पदेन च पूरुषम् ।
अनूद्यैक्यं तयोर्भूप बोध्यतेऽसिपदेन सत् ॥ ४२॥

विरुद्धस्य त्वमर्थस्य तदर्थत्वं कथ भवेत् ।
इति चेच्छृणु राजेन्द्र तयोरैक्ये निदर्शनम् ॥ ४३॥

देवदत्तः क्वचिद्दृष्टो युवा देशान्तरे स च ।
पुनर्दृष्टो जरां प्राप्तः सोऽयमित्यवधार्यते ॥ ४४॥

पूर्वदेशमवस्थां च त्यक्त्वेदं तस्य वार्द्धकम् ।
देशं चापि यथैकेन पिण्डेनैक्यं प्रतीयते ॥ ४५॥

त्यक्त्वा द्व्यंशौ तथाऽत्रापि वाक्य ऐक्यं हि लक्ष्यते ।
त्वम्पदस्य च वाच्यार्थः संसारीति सुनिश्चितः ॥ ४६॥

कर्ता भोक्ता सुखी दुःखी माययैव न तत्त्वतः ।
देहेन्द्रियमनःप्राणाहङ्कारेभ्यो विलक्षणः ॥ ४७॥

वस्तुतः सच्चिदानन्दस्वरूपो गुणगोचरः ।
एकांशस्तत्र चिद्रूपमन्यः संसारिताऽस्य च ॥ ४८॥

एवं त्वमर्थं निश्चित्य तदर्थमपि निश्चिनु ।
अतद्व्यावृत्त्या विधिना साक्षाच्च श्रुतियुक्तितः ॥ ४९॥

तत्पदस्य च वाच्यार्थः सर्वज्ञः परमेश्वरः ।
तस्यैकोंऽशोऽपि चिद्रूपं सर्वज्ञत्वादि चापरः ॥ ५०॥

त्यक्त्वा विरुद्धवाच्यांशद्वयं जीवेशयोरिह ।
लक्ष्यौ चिदंशौ निर्बाधं पदयोरुभयोरपि ॥ ५१॥

अविरुद्धं तयोरैक्यं लक्षणालक्षितं द्वयोः ।
वाक्यार्थोऽयं सुनिष्पन्नस्त्वं ब्रह्म परमं हि तत् ॥ ५२॥

तदेव त्वं परं ब्रह्म नास्ति भेदः कथञ्चन ।
अखण्डैकरसत्वेन वाक्यार्थोऽत्र सतां मतः ॥ ५३॥

विशेष्यं त्वम्पदं तस्य तत्पदं च विशेषणम् ।
निरस्यतेऽस्य दुःखित्वं सुखित्वं च विधीयते ॥ ५४॥

वैपरीत्येन विज्ञेयं विशेष्यं तत्पदं तथा ।
विशेषणं त्वम्पदं च पारोक्ष्यस्य निरासकृत् ॥ ५५॥

तद्वह्म परमं शुद्धं त्वमात्मैव निरामयः ।
इत्यैक्यं भूप विज्ञेयं वेदोक्तं गुर्वनुग्रहात् ॥ ५६॥

स्वात्मैक्यार्थमियं प्रोक्ता सुधीभिर्भागलक्षणा ।
त्रिकाण्डेनापि वेदेन सोऽयमर्थो विनिश्चितः ॥ ५७॥

स्थूलधीभिः सुदुर्ज्ञेयो विज्ञेयो हि मनीषिभिः ।
पर्यवस्यन्ति वेदाद्या अत्रैव विविधा अपि ॥ ५८॥

शास्त्रतत्त्वमविज्ञाय मूढाः शास्त्राणि सर्वशः ।
ते प्रवृत्तिपराण्येव कथयन्ति कुतर्कतः ॥ ५९॥

उपक्रमोपसंहारावभ्यासोऽपूर्वता फलम् ।
अर्थवादोपपत्ती च लिङ्गं तात्पर्यनिर्णये ॥ ६०॥

प्राक् सदैवेत्युपक्रम्यैतदात्म्यमिदमेव सत् ।
उपसंहृतमित्येकमभ्यासो नवधा परम् ॥ ६१॥

शाब्देनैव ह्यखण्डार्थविनयत्वं तृतीयकम् ।
तुर्यं विदेहकैवल्यं प्रारब्धान्ते विवेकिनः ॥ ६२॥

षष्ठं मृदादिदृष्टान्तैर्निर्णयस्तूपपत्तिकम् ।
सृष्टिस्थित्यन्तप्रवेशानियमः शोधनं फलम् ॥ ६३॥

सप्तार्थवादास्तद्रूपं पञ्चमं लिङ्गमुच्यते ।
सर्वस्यात्मन उत्पत्तेरवस्थानाच्च तत्र हि ॥ ६४॥

पुनर्लयाज्जगौ वेदः कारणब्रह्ममात्रताम् ।
सूर्यस्येव जले चात्र प्रवेशमपि चात्र तु ॥ ६५॥

अन्तर्यामितया भेदात्सदा नियमनं स्मृतम् ।
तथा रोहितरूपाद्यैः पदार्थपरिशोधनम् ॥ ६६॥

अभेदज्ञानस्य परं स्वात्मैक्यममृतं फलम् ।
एवं सप्तार्थवादात्मलक्षणं पञ्चमं मतम् ॥ ६७॥

षड्लिङ्गैरिति तात्पर्यावधृतिः श्रवणं स्मृतम् ।
आस्थायाथो योगभूमिं मननादि चरेद्बुधः ॥ ६८॥

इति दत्तपुराणे श्रमिहावाक्यार्थबोधः सम्पूर्णः ॥

Fate is what is in place at your birth- fate chose your relatives , NOT your friends and well wishers  .

Every act produces in the performer a double effect, one in the inner nature in the form of a tendency, good or bad, and the other in the form of fruit, reward or punishment. The past Karma influences the present life in two ways, first in the form of character or tendency internally and as fate externally.

Fate is usually seen as "set in stone" and often has negative connotations.   Fate is an agent that predetermines and orders the course of events as it is linked to your  past karmic baggage of your last life . 

When a Brahmin or a king becomes a leper despite this person doing only good in the current life , he must know that his karmic baggage was with him when he was born . It means that events are "meant to be" and are set in motion by an external force or intelligence.. 

We are in control of our destiny but have no control over our fate.     

Destiny cannot be forced on us; if we are forced then it is our fate.  Fate is determined by GOD who has overriding powers and is in the know of your past karmic baggage and your soul frequency in the current life.

Karma or the actions that you do in the present life is passed on to the next life.

Karmic negative baggage has to be lived and worked out. There is no way of avoiding it.

 Yoga empowers you to take charge of your destiny , though it cant alter your fate. The purpose of life on this planet is to be happy while pursuing the goal of lessening your karmic baggage as much as possible

The two kinds of karma that represent our fate are:

1. Sanchita Karma – Our entire accumulated karma that represents all the actions we’ve performed in all our past our lifetimes.

2. Prarabdha Karma – Our current life karma. Our prarabdha karma is that portion of our entire sanchita karma that is allotted to us to experience in our current lives.

Animals like humans are NOT exempt from fate .   BrahmAn decides fate by factoring in past samskaras .

God loves every one equally and he is fair to everyone. It is true that the entire universe and our lives run on the “Will of the God” we Hindus call fate. But at the same time that “God’s will” (cosmic system in place) is perfect and fair --not imperfect and unfair that runs on irregular impulses of God’s desires or passions.

To the contention that the law of karma does not leave any scope for the operation of divine grace, Hinduism's answer is that the grace of God is ever flowing equally toward all. Fate is in the hands of god , while destiny is in the hands of humans.

Universal forces of fate, destiny, karma, free will, and the Law of Attraction are all  intertwined,

Freedom is the essence of Karma. It gives opportunities for growth and evolution. The doctrine of 

Karma affords a most rational and scientific explanation of what is called fate. It gives a positive definite word of assurance that, although the present of which he himself is the creator or the author, is unalterable and irrevocable, he may better his future by changing his thoughts, habits, tendencies and mode of action. 

Herein lies great comfort, strength, encouragement and consolation to the desperate man. Herein lies a strong impetus for the man to struggle and exert for improving himself. Even a forlorn and helpless man is made cheerful when he understands this doctrine of Karma. 

The doctrine of Karma brings hope to the hopeless, help to the helpless, joy to the cheerless and new strength to the weak. 

It braces up a sinking man. It is an ideal “pick-me-up” for the depressed and gloomy. 

The doctrine of Karma teaches: “Do not blame anybody when you suffer. Do not accuse God. Blame yourself first. You will have to reap what you have sown in your previous birth. Your present sufferings are due to your own bad Karma in your past life. 

You are yourself the author of the present state. Do not weep. Do not cry over spilt milk. There is no use. You will not gain anything by so doing. Instead of weeping over the failure of crops during last year, go on ploughing this year. You will get abundant rain this year and rich harvest. Do virtuous actions now. Think rightly. Act rightly. You will have a brilliant and a glorious future.” 

How beautiful and soul-stirring is this magnanimous doctrine of Karma! The doctrine of Karma develops faith and supports ethics. It says: “If you hurt another man, you hurt yourself.”

The faculty of choosing is termed will. This will is free by its own nature. Man has a free will by his birthright. It asserts itself at every moment of our lives. Bear in mind that every small act that you perform is the resultant of triple conjoint forces, viz., freewill, character and FATE. 

The sphere of activity varies according to the nature of your Karma and the character formed by it. If you have done virtuous actions in your previous birth and if you have developed an exemplary character, your will will have a wider field of activity and vice versa.

Karma names the universal principle of cause and effect, action and reaction, which Hindus believe governs all consciousness.    Karma is not FATE, for we act with what can be described as a conditioned free will creating our own destinies.

Bhagawad Gita is a chapter of Mahabharata—  priceless  700-verses in Sanskrit penned in 4000 BC (chapters 25 - 42 of the 6th book of Mahabharata).

It deals with  DHARMA,   FATE,  DESTINY,  KARMA,  FREE WILL , YOGA,  CHOICES ,  BEING IN THE MOMENT , DOING YOUR DUTY,  CHANGE  etc

In essence, we reap what we sow.   We harvest our karma.

The joy of living requires our participation. Our actions and reactions continue throughout our lives.

Karma is not crime and punishment at all.

We have chosen the circumstances that we are living today through our actions in the past.

Free will allows us to make choices that can modify and shape our destiny. Free will has a major influence on destiny.

The two kinds of karma that represent our free will are:---

3. Kriyamana Karma – This is our free will to take current actions to change our current life situation.

4. Agama Karma – This is our free will to make a plan or set an intention to take an action in the future. 

Without kriyamana and agama karma our life would be entirely predestined at the moment of birth.

The law of attraction can be strengthened, weakened or postponed by laws of karma , destiny, and fate .  Not everyone who dreams of winning the jackpot will achieve success.

In Sanatana Dharma the true purpose of life is to nullify the karmic baggage you accumulated ever since you were born as a conscious human , attain moksha where you become god.

You are one who is responsible for whatever you are.   Your current situation is because of your past karma.   We can change our destiny by our current karma.

You have the power to choose. You have the power to change. You have the power to become whatever you want. You create your destiny using your FREE WILL.

We can change our destiny  by SHRADDHA, being spiritually aware and willing to follow the laws of the universe in our current lifetime.  We can meditate, and be aware of our choices. 

By yoga and meditation , you can let go of limiting thoughts and beliefs and therefore limiting actions.

Vasana is the inborn urge, deep-rooted inclination, inherent tendency. As your vasana so will be your thought, desire and action. Your vasana then creates the environment or circumstance. Thus you are a victim of your vasanas in the present. This is referred to as DESTINY.

Life is a mix of good and bad. We induce good or bad tendencies (vasanas) in our life depending upon our good or bad karmas. Each karma (action), each thought leaves a residual impression or  vasana

Vasana is a Sanskrit Malayalam word akin to  the fragrance of food that is left in the cooking vessel even after it is washed) in our mind or the smell of your hand after eating biriyani and washing it.

Vasanas are subtle impressions which the individual soul will carry with when the soul separates itself from the physical body upon the death of a person. 

To understand this new term VASANA, first think of ice, which is gross. It is solid; can be touched or felt and can be cut into different shapes. 

Water is subtler than ice. Water cannot be cut into shape, although it will assume the shape of its container. Water is liquid and not solid like ice. Steam is subtler than water. We cannot hold steam in our hand as we can hold water. Steam is visible for a while and then it becomes invisible. Humidity in the air is subtler than steam. The presence of humidity in the air cannot be seen.

The vasanas are like the humidity in the air; subtlest of all.

The latent impressions or vasanas will start functioning when the soul enters a new body. It is like a seed which has the potential of a huge tree stored within the seed.

The mind is by nature pure and clear, and capable of reflecting reality. The impurities in it, which distort the image of reality, are created by desires and attachments. Being foreign to it, they may be removed; and this is effected through the practice of spiritual disciplines (Karma Yoga, Raja Yoga and Jnana Yoga). Work, when performed as a spiritual discipline is called Karma Yoga. 

The mind is not an impartite substance. Just as cloth is nothing but a bundle of threads, the mind is nothing but a cluster of Vasanas or past impressions and subtle desires that persistently lurk within the sub-conscience. When the threads are pulled out one by one, where is cloth at all? 

When the Vasanas are burnt with their seeds the mind vanishes into the Immortal Seat of Brahman. The Upanishad says, "when the senses do not work and stand together with the mind, and when the intellect is still, that, they say is the Highest State". 

The daily selfish actions of the Jiva add to the stock of these Vasanas and thus the embodied existence becomes unbroken, and the wheel of birth and death rolls on ceaselessly. The emptying of these Vasanas demands a twofold counter-activity by the Jiva. 

The first one is to stop the adding of newer Vasanas and the second is the destruction of the existing ones.

The CONSCIOUS human being alone is gifted with the choice of action. You can choose to act as per your vasanas or be independent of them.  With this choice or purushartha you determine your future. 

Prarabda is the sum total of all your past purusharthas. It is irrevocable. So if you look at your past you are a victim. With reference to the future you are a victor. At each juncture you are free to choose the way you think, desire or act. Once chosen you are a victim of its effect. 

Prarabdha is that portion of the past karma which is responsible for the present body. That portion of the sanchita karma which influences human life in the present incarnation is called prarabdha. It is ripe for reaping. It cannot be avoided or changed. It is only exhausted by being experienced. You pay your past debts.

The universe gives back what you have given to it. So be very careful how you think. If you anger easily you create an angry mind that is predisposed to anger. As water gathers force when directed into a narrow canal, the grooves in the mind create channels of behavior patterns which become difficult to resist or reverse. Changing an ingrained mental habit becomes an uphill battle. 

 Purushartha ( motivations )will is the key to your emancipation. Irrespective of your past you can choose to be better, nobler, more evolved. God is only the facilitator and enabler of your actions. God has set the Law of Karma in place. 

It is up to you to use the law for your evolution. Purusharthas serve as pointers in life and act as stage-posts of awareness. It points to the goals in life that human beings need to live a life of meaning.

Dharma is maintained as the first Purusharthas in the scriptures, which lead us to have a disciplined and orderly life, by using the right method to live a peaceful and satisfying life.  Every human being needs to obey the law of nature by strictly following dharma. dharma ( natural justice ) is the stability of the society, the maintenance of social order, and the general welfare of mankind. 

And whatever conduces to the fulfillment of this purpose is called ‘dharma’.. The law of karma (karma theory) postulates that what we acquired at the time of our birth was due to the consequences of our deeds-actions creating debits or credits with us in previous births. Hence during the present lifetime we must try and exhaust our past karma and get the account fully cleared.  

Only yogis of high order,, who practice Niskama Karma, are free from the effects of their actions.

Vasanas are like the seeds that have to fructify or manifest (abhivyakti) according to the favourable circumstances (anugunanam) at appropriate time (vipaka). Our psyche is a very fertile land. Nature is very kind to allow each and every seed to sprout.  

The yogi knows the technique to come out of this vicious circle of Vasana-Karma-Vasana.

What  the relationship between prarabdha destiny and purushartha self-effort?   The first comparison is a ship in a river. The speed of the ship is 17 knots hour in still waters.

 The ship is  moving downstream. The water in the river flows at a speed of  3 knots. The speed of the boat downstream will then be 20 (17 + 3) knots. While moving upstream the speed of the ship will reduce the 14 (17 - 3) knots.

Thus the speed of the ship varies from 20  to 14 knots over the ground  depending upon its movement down or up.  The propeller speed is independent of the speed of water.  Yet when it moves in the river it becomes 18 downstream and 14 upstream. 

Now, compare the original speed of the boat to your purushartha self-effort. And the speed of water to your prarabdha destiny.  Your self-effort is ever free. Your destiny cannot alter your self-effort. The speed of the water cannot change the propeller speed.  

Nevertheless, in effect the boat gains 3 knots downward and loses 3 upward. Similarly, even though your self-effort is independent, it is in effect altered by your destiny. When you apply your self-effort in the background of your destiny, the effect produced is different.

Your self-effort makes its free choice in the background of your destiny. The combination of your effort and destiny produces a different effect.

Recite 23,32,234,432,234. This continues till the ruk ends.

3. If the statement 4 is a word with two padams 4a and 4b, before taking up

5,6; it is chanted as 4 iti 4a pause 4b. The student now grasps the details

of the Padams that make this word 4. This is similar to Krama Paatam. 4. When the two words 6,7 are taken up; the chanting rule (as explained

above with three letter combination) cannot be followed; so it is recited as

67, 76,67. The flow of the mantra and its word are repeated to memorise

the words/padams.

5. To indicate that the Ruk has ended a final recital of 7 iti 7 like in Krama

Paatam.

6. Then the next Ruk is taken up as in Step 2.

7. All rules relating to normal Veda recital, Swaram rules, Vowel Sandhi

Rules, Visarga Sandhi Rules,Consonant Sandhi Rules and

other grammar rules are applied

8. The Swaram markings and acquisition follow the normal Veda recital rules

and is clearly marked in the Pada Paatam.

9. Elongation of rendering is made for the statements where padam is split

like in Krama Paatam.
