Almost everyone I know who has gone to USA for even just 1-2 months has picked up some or the other part of the USA-Accent. When asked why they reply that --- "locals don't understand us if we speak in normal accent". Strange considering Indian-accent is the clearest and easiest english-accent to understand due to strong emphasis on pronunciation in the native-Indian languages hence ensuring that Indian people pronounce every syllable cleary.
